Restorative Services

Today’s restorative dentistry looks so good and natural that it seems to overlap into cosmetic dentistry. Essentially, restorative dentistry is ways to repair damaged teeth and the procedure that is appropriate for your needs will match the amount of missing, discolored or broken teeth.

Fillings (Inlays, Onlays)

Inlays and onlays are a sort of “halfway” point between a filling and a crown. The goal is to make a strong natural replacement for a damaged tooth and keep as much of the unaffected, healthy portion as possible. The work is created in a local lab and custom fit for your tooth. and will be stronger than a traditional filling for a tooth with more advanced decay.

Root Canals

Root canals are a relatively common procedure used to save a badly infected tooth. High-tech digital imaging with Glaser Dental’s x-ray machines now make it possible for the process to be more exact. Patient’s will get relief from pain, sensitivity to hot or cold temperatures and swelling with a root canal procedure.

Crowns are used for extensive decay or damaged teeth used to cover, or cap an entire tooth. This restoration fully covers the portion of the tooth that lies at or above the gum line. The work is created in a local lab and consists of porcelain, metal, or a combination of the two.

Perfect solution for:
•  Strengthening a broken tooth
•  Root canal therapy tooth
•  Covering a tooth that had a large amount of decay, is discolored or poorly shaped
•  Cosmetically improving the shape and appearance of a tooth

Missing teeth are not only unsightly, but they present a host of other dental issues. When a tooth comes out, a natural shift begins to occur. The tooth that opposes the missing tooth will begin to extrude outward and eventually become loose. In addition, teeth on either side of the missing tooth will shift and then you may experience pain, difficulty eating, difficulty cleaning and even painful jaw joints.. Partials and bridges are the answer for many people with a missing tooth or teeth. Today’s technology makes a bridge/partial implant barely noticeable and you can maintain your healthy smile.

Dental technology has advanced so that dentures are more comfortable and fit better than ever before. Full or partial dentures are a great solution for missing teeth and we take pride in the fit and processing of dentures for our patients. Our goal, as always, is to provide our patients with a healthy smile that will last a lifetime.

Important information about the materials we use and the labs that help us re-create your beautiful smile

If you are like most dental patients, you have no idea which lab your dentist is using. This lack of information could cost you dearly.

Dental labs create dentures, crowns, bridges, orthodontic appliances, and other dental restorations like implant crowns. There is a huge difference in the quality of these labs.

In order to increase profit, some dentists use foreign labs or cut-rate domestic ones. These labs may include tin, aluminum or even lead in their restorations. A reputable, first class lab will certify its restorations contain none of those metals and provide the dentist and patient a warranty on their craftsmanship.

Dr. Glaser uses only certified U.S. labs. In most cases we use LOCAL Labs. We're happy to say Jeff at Proceram right here in Wausau works with Dr. Glaser on a majority of our fixed (crowns & implants) restoration cases. Keeping it local benefits the patient, Jeff is only minutes away if we need him to come in and consult on a case.

For removable restorations (dentures & bridges) Dr. Glaser uses Lords Dental out of Green Bay for many of his cases.
They are nationally know for their beautiful dentures. At any time you can ask questions about the origin of the lab work and the materials.
