The 5th Day of Christmas – Question 5
Multiple artificial. They go up early and stay up late. Made the switch because of needles in the carpet and cats in the trees.
We use an artificial tree because our three cats would mutilate a real one ?
Real! Picked and Cut down each year by our kiddos from our woods!
One of each! Will never give up the tradition of a real tree (unless we get attacked by spiders (Kari’s comment above)).. but the kids begged for their own tree this year too, so I went fake for that.
Both! My husband has an all Green Bay Packer tree in his office/man cave and we have a real tree in the living room. I love the smell of real trees!
Real Tree: Because an artificial tree doesn’t cut it for me; I love the smell, the feel, and the look of a White pine. It’s my favorite Christmas tree.
Fake, not only because it’s cost-effective, but also because my sister had a horror story of a real tree with spider sacks that hatched and hundreds of spiders were crawling all over the furniture in their house. That’s not a risk I’m willing to take. ?
REAL of course…It’s been a tradition since we had kids to go out and chop down a tree. Then we decorate it while having hot chocolate and watch The Grinch!
Artificial but only because it’s easier. A real tree would be preferred.
Real Trees. It has always been tradition to go out and cut the trees. The trees may not always have the perfect shape however by the time we hang the last ornament they transform
into beautiful Christmas trees.
Real – it wouldn’t be the Christmas tradition if we didn’t go out and look for the “right” tree for at least an hour to come back to the very first one we liked.
Real. Love the smell!
Real!! The smell is unbeatable:)
I have a slim artificial tree that fits nicely in my smaller home, however I do love the smell of the real trees.
Real!!!! I love the smell and look of a real tree! Plus the naughty kittens love to climb it??
I prefer an artificial tree, that way I can put it up as early as I want with no mess and many of the artificial look real.
Artificial for the first time ever, since we now have a young child, the dropping of tree needles could be bad.
We have an artificial tree now due to allergies but I grew up with a real tree.
Artificial tree with one strand of lights. We have two cats that are 2 years old and find the lights and tree very intriguing.
Real!
Always a real tree. My father in law grows and trims trees for the family.
Ours is fake because we travel a lot i we the holidays and I worry about a really drying out and starting a fire
Real, because finding the perfect Christmas tree is one of my favorite family traditions. My first time tree hunting was with my husband and his family when we were simply dating. It brings back fond memories.
We have an artificial tree at this time. It is much easier. When our kids get older we are planning on doing a real tree!
Our tree is artificial because my wife has allergies.
I posted my answer on Dec. 5, at 6:34. It shows Dec. 6th?
Real Trees in the past when our boys were growing up. Now we have a Slim artificial one, which we love!
We used to have real ones, but now that we are grandparents and great grandparents, we have switched to artificial. We have one on the front porch, one in the living room, and a small one in our bedroom!
Artificial. This way I can keep it up longer. But I sure do miss the smell of a real one. Pine scented candles just don’t compare..
When my brother and I were younger we always went as a family to pick out a real tree. Now, as lives got busier, we have an artificial
Artificial tree because of my allergies
2 artificial, one on main level and the 2nd downstairs. All trees are beautiful – fake or real ?
Real because it’s a family tradition
Gotta have real!! The smell is the best!!
My tree is artificial, we had real trees when the kids were young, cutting them siren every year which was always fun but kids are grown and new if I do not have to walk through the cold to pick one out and vacuum needles for six months after the holidays I am fine with that, plus are artificial looks like a real tree
It is real. We get it from my dads lot were he grows some assorted trees. I go there a few times during the year to help trim them.
We enjoy cutting down our own tree, its smell, & the feel of the real branches….
Artificial tree less mess easy cleanup.
Real!! I once saw a cute old couple cutting down their Christmas tree and have vowed since then that I will always cut down my own tree as tradition with my husband even when my children are grown! I love the whole experience!!
Artificial. Got sick of picking up the real tree and the broken bulbs every year because it was always falling over.
I have a real tree because I grew up always having a real one. My husband wishes it was fake cuz he has to do all the work.?
Artificial- two of my sons have allergies to trees! I do use pine scents to get the feel of a real tree!?
Artificial, because we are too lazy to go cut our own.
Artificial and because my wife likes them ?
All my life I have had a living tree. It is the symbol of life . My European grandparents have instilled this tradition in our families celebration.?
We have an artificial one , can put it up sooner and less mess.
Artificial because of allergies
Artificial – one year we had a real tree and we had to gets new vacuum because of all the dropped needles!!!
Artificial because of my allergies, and being a “perfectionist” my tree always has the perfect shape ??♀️
Our tree is usually real, and we cut some of the trunk off in pieces and put that around the house so we have the smell of pine everywhere!
Artificial although I’d love to have a real, Charlie Brown tree this year!
Artificial because the ornaments seem supported better. We also hated stepping on pine needles that would fall off. I do miss the smell of a fresh tree…. so make due with various evergreen scents.
Artificial tree inside. And many outside growing because they are to beautiful to cut down.
Artificial. Regardless if I cut a tree down myself it was always dry by Christmas & loosing lots of needles. Artificial is easier for me & not a fire hazard.
Real all the way!! I get to watch my brother struggle to help my parents set it up :)
The days of picking and cutting down the perfect tree out in the lot to bring it home to find out it takes up half your living room are gone. (They always looked so much smaller out in the lot) We will always have the memories but I have artificial tree now.
We usually have one of each. I put a fake tree in the family room and a 15 foot real tree in the living room. For the past 2 years our real tree has fallen over so this year I told my husband no real trees!!
We have a real tree upstairs and an artificial tree downstairs. We try to make trimming the tree a family tradition but it is getting increasingly more difficult as the kids get older.
Real of course. Cut the Saturday after Thanksgiving at the same tree farm and after the wagon ride we go to the Stage Stop for breakfast
All 20 of us.It is tradition. Plus I love the smell.
Have an artificial palm tree since a real one would be hard to have in this area. Have it decorated in fun beach themed ornaments!??
We have 6 Christmas trees in our house. 5 of them are fake ones and 1 real one. Each of the kids has their own tree in their bedroom. I have one 4ft fake one in basement and the real one is in living room along with another one. Gotha have the real one love the smell and we been cutting our tree down ever since I was a little girl. I love the looks of the real tree.
Artificial Tree. I am allergic to the real ones. ? so I decorate my artificial with all homemade ornaments
Although I love the look and smell of a real tree, we have resorted to an artificial skinny tree do to two naughty kitties chewing the needles!
Artificial Tree Bc I am allergic to real Christmas trees . But I love the smell of a real Xmas tree.
Artificial Tree Bc I am allergic to real Christmas trees . But I love the smell of a real Xmas tree.
We have an artificial one because that’s just what I’ve always done, but when our son is older, we might start a real Christmas tree tradition ?
Real- love the tradition of cutting it down with family and the smell!
We have an artificial tree, although this year I think we are going g to try and get a real tree! We have a 13 week old puppy so it will be interesting to see how he does with the decorated tree… fingers crossed it will stay standing!
Real cut down from our own land. Sometimes they are Charlie Brown ish… But always beautiful when decorated!
I don’t have a tree because I can’t afford one, but would prefer an artificial tree, with white lights, with all of the ornaments I made as a child.
We used to have real ones. Now we have a small artificial fiber optic, but it’s stored in the basement.
Real! I love the smell and the tradition of the annual tree hunt ?
My late husband and I used to put up real trees, but now that it’s just me and now my elderly mother living with me, I’ve gone the easier route and gone with a small artificial tree that fits in our bay window. That way no rearranging of furniture and put up/take down is easier on us.
We have an artificial tree with the majority of our ornaments collected over the years, but in addition we have a very small real tree that is decorated in my favorite ornaments from my great grandparents.
Fake because the misses doesn’t like the mess
We make a big to-do about picking out our real tree and decorating it with our children. There is something that special about the smell of a real tree that awakens and relaxes my senses.
We have a real tree. My wife talked me into it when we met. We go the weekend after thanksgiving every year. The kids love it and now I do as well.
I have an artificial tree. It is a lot easier for me to go downstairs and grab a tree then to find the time to go cut down a tree every year!
I have three artificial. I like to start early and having artificial trees saves me time of getting the trees.
Real because the kids want it! Once they’re out of the house, we’re going take all the way!!!
I Have one of each! Why not?
We have artificial as my husband and my eldest daughter are allergic to real.
We have artificial because my husband does not want the clean up from a real one.
We always had a really tree when I was growing up, the experience of going to the tree farm and searching for the perfect tree as a family, then cutting it down and bringing it home to decorate was truly special. But I have opted for an artificial one now.. and I love that I don’t have to water it multiple times a day and clean up sticky sap and pine needles EVERYWHERE. I think whatever you do to celebrate the season is wonderful!!!
Real!!! Love the smell and the tradition of picking out the perfect tree for our family each year!
Artificial. I don’t like cleaning up the needles and even worse is watering a real tree. No matter what I used to water it I would always have a spill. Haha! Plus, pets. So we have artificial and we enjoy it. Plus, my husband likes the fact that he can put it up super early! ;)
One of each! My kids won’t let me go all artificial? And I still ❤️ the real thing
Artificial, although nothing beats the smell of a real ?. If I could leave it decorated and store it I would.
Real. Nothing beats the smell as you walk by.
Growing up we always had a real tree, but in college I found a bed and breakfast place that was selling their beautiful artificial tree for $15. So that’s what I still have and enjoy. My partner also came with an artificial tree so we now have two!
We have 2 artificial trees. One downstairs and one up. Because why would you have only one? ;)
Fake! Less mess when we clean up. ?
No tree, my dogs will tear it down lol
We have an artificial tree. We are in the process of remodling our basement. Once thats done we might get a real one.
We have an artificial tree due to allergies.
We have a real tree because you can’t beat the smell of a real tree
Artificial, with the pets it is the best way to go!
We have a real tree. Love the smell! We love cutting it from the woods so it is not perfect. This reminds My husband of the trees he would have as a child. We love our Charlie Brown trees.
We have a real one because the kids love to go to and pick it up and help cut it down. It’s a special family tradition every year.
We have the Real Deal Holyfield! A real tree is what we have always had, sticking with tradition we keep the real tree. We have made it an annual outing where we go to a different place every year to grab our tree. I feel like we need to purchase an old station wagon like the one in National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation and use it once a year for our Christmas tree road trip!
Real all the way!!! Nothing beats the smell of a fresh cut tree to being those warm happy Christmas memories.
Artificial because I am allergic to real trees…even though I’d much prefer a real one. Also there’s less hassle having an artificial one. You can put it up whenever you want and leave it up without worrying about it dropping needles.
We have an artificial tree. Because I am really bad at sawing and could never get the thing to fit in the stand without leaning or tipping over. :(
Real. My husband, one of my sisters and I go out every year and cut one down. We have so much fun.
We now have an artificial tree because I found a 12 foot tree that I fell in love with.
